A9/A904 Improvements Survey

Closed 8 Nov 2019

Opened 10 Oct 2019

Overview

We have plans to improve  the infrastructure around the West Mains, Westfield and Middlefield areas. This includes a proposal to improve the A9-A904, involving road widening, new roundabouts to improve access and road safety, and the construction of a pedestrian/cycle bridge at Westfield roundabout.

Funding for the project will come from the Tax Incremental Finance (TIF) scheme that allows local authorities to fund infrastructure projects by unlocking investment sites and businesses and borrowing against future tax revenues. It is expected that the Council’s TIF infrastructure investment, will lever over £400m in private investment to the area, creating almost 6,000 jobs and apprenticeships.

Full details can be found on our website.
