Over the last year the importance of our greenspaces has come into sharp focus. They are vital spaces for people; helping to support our physical and mental well-being. Managed in the right way, they can also play an important part in our response to the global challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss.
In January 2021, Falkirk Council gave the go ahead to an exciting Sustainable Grass Management Pilot Project. During 2021-22 this project will trial changes to how we manage grassland at 35 greenspace sites (including parks and road verges).

We are currently asking for feedback on the proposals for two of the pilot sites: Burnbank Road and Portal Road. The details of the changes proposed for these sites are available on the Council website (see related links below). They include:
We are consulting to better understand public support for the benefits of making changes to the way we manage these sites and to gauge public reaction to and obtain feedback on the proposed changes.
