The results are in for the Kinneil Walled Garden public consultation. Thank you to the 207 people who took the time to respond. The Consultation Report will tell you a little more about what folk said but, in a nutshell, most people would like to see a community benefit from the walled garden, with projects run to provide food for the food bank, community growing plots and bee-keeping projects. There was also support for better visitor facilities, toilets and a cafe.
All the ideas suggested will now be considered by Falkirk Council, and we will work with local residents, groups, organisations and others interested in getting involved to work up some sketches and start to piece together the jigsaw.
All those who expressed an interest in volunteering - we'll be in touch as the ideas develop and we start to get a clearer picture of what opportunities will be available to you.
Thank you everyone who has taken an interest and got involved so far.
The Council Nursery at Kinneil has now closed so we need to come up with a sustainable solution for the site’s future. This needs to be a joint vision to give the site the best chance of success for everyone – residents, visitors and local interest groups and organisations.
On Wednesday 5th June 2019, groups, organisations and individuals most directly affected by decisions made about Kinneil Walled Garden met to look at options for the site.
The ideas listed in this consultation are based on the conversations we had with this group.
Now it is your chance to tell us your views on the ideas and suggestions that have already been made, and let us know of any other ideas and suggestions that you have for how the Walled Garden space should be used.
