We ran a survey, between 15th October 2018 and 12th November 2018, to ask you for your opinions on potential budget cuts and savings. The survey received 2028 responses and the results were used to inform decisions made about the Council’s spending for 2019/20 and beyond.
The Council is planning its spending for 2019/20 and beyond. We want to make sure our resources are directed to the things that matter most to you.
In real terms we will have around a 25% reduction in what we have to spend over the next five years. Communities will therefore have to make some difficult choices about where this money goes.
We will also be asking communities to consider taking on services they value but that we can no longer support, such as maintaining flowerbeds and running community centres.
Despite this, we will still have £355m to invest in services and communities in 2019/20.
We are reviewing our services to make sure we are supporting those most in need. We are investing in digital services to make us more efficient and make it easier for residents to access services.
We need your views to help us make more informed decisions that reflect what is important to you.
Your views will help steer our approach to transforming the Council in future years.
