Short Term Let Licensing policy

Closed 11 Nov 2022

Opened 14 Oct 2022

Overview

Under legislation approved by the Scottish Government earlier this year, we, like all Scottish local authorities, were required to establish a short-term lets licensing scheme by 1 October 2022. Falkirk Council have prepared a draft policy setting out the application process, licence conditions (both mandatory and additional) and proposed licence fees. The licensing scheme will apply to varying types of accommodation including self-catering premises, guest houses, B&Bs and non-conventional accommodation such as yurts.

The draft licensing policy is now out for public consultation for a period from the 14 October to 11 November 2022, and all views are welcomed. Once the consultation concludes, the submissions will be considered by the Council with a new Policy being agreed in early December.
